Abstract

The paper aims to explore some discursive background from the cordobesa clerical press, with the objective of explaining significant aspects of the phenomenon of political violence that developed in Argentina since the imposition of the military regimes of September 1930 and June 1943. The idea is to establish the main characteristics of the nationalist and clerical discourse that surrounded the formation of the miliaries as first-rate political actors, through the description and analysis of some historical antecedents, emphasizing the definitions proposed by the traditional Cordoba civilian allies of military dictatorships in relation to society and national culture, the role of the masses and the political status of corporate actors such as the church or the Argentinean army. Finally, a provisional conclusion will be rehearsed on the final destiny of this binary discursive universe defined during the first military dictatorships that devastated the 20th century in Argentina, taking as an object of analysis the latest military experience in government and its political implications.
